Airplane Skydive Interlaken

591 Reviews

We are proud to jump by helicopter here in Interlaken. There is no active airfield in the area, so it is not possible to jump by plane over Interlaken. Only by helicopter is it possible to jump in front of this amazing scenery, guaranteeing you the best experience. Sometimes, we organize plane jumps on special weekends in the Swiss lowlands, but at the moment we have nothing concrete planned for the upcoming summer.

Have you ever wanted to go skydiving from an airplane? Our suggestion: choose a helicopter skydive instead! A helicopter skydive offers numerous advantages over an airplane jump:

  1. Only with our helicopter skydives do you have three activities combined – a unique scenic helicopter tour, the thrilling feeling of freefall and a gentle flight on a parachute. All this in probably one of the most beautiful regions – so let’s go!
  2. Our jump sites: It’s the only way to jump directly over Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen or in front of the north face of the Eiger – guaranteeing the best views possible.
  3. Comfort: Only two tandems fit in a helicopter, you have enough space to enjoy the whole experience. Despite this, it is also ideal for large groups, read more here.
  4. Best view: Helicopters have huge panoramic windows as the pilots need excellent all-around visibility. This makes the ascent itself a great experience with incredible views before your skydive.
  5. The exit/jump: is such a unique experience in a helicopter. The feeling of stepping out onto the skids as you fall from the helicopter, which is almost stationary in the air, and the incredible acceleration you feel is unique to helicopter jumps and something you don’t get in an airplane.
  6. Less stress: Skydiving from a helicopter is less stressful as we are never in a rush to get out. The helicopter can hover in one place and wait for us to be ready. Because we don’t have to stress you out, the whole freefall experience is much more relaxed and you can enjoy the whole experience better, including the moment standing on the skid before you jump!
  7. Safety: Helicopters do not need a long runway for an emergency landing, they can land anywhere.
  8. Altitude: You get the same altitude with a helicopter jump as with a parachute jump from an airplane.
  9. Personal experience: As only two tandems fit in the helicopter, this allows us to avoid mass processing and guarantees you a very personal experience in a friendly family atmosphere.

We hope we have highlighted the many reasons why helicopter skydiving is superior to airplane skydiving in so many ways, if you have any questions please get in touch.

  • How it works

    The skydive

The skydive from an airplane begins with a 15-minute flight that takes you to the exit altitude.

At an altitude of around 14,000 feet/4000 m comes the moment of truth. Safely attached to your instructor, you sit at the exit of the plane, ready for the jump. As your heart races, you take a deep breath and off you go

Experience the unparalleled exhilaration of a 45-second freefall, reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h before the parachute opens at around 5,500 feet/1500 m altitude. Enjoy the canopy flight for about 5 to 7 minutes before landing safely.

We sometimes organize parachute jumps on special weekends in the Swiss flatlands, but at the moment we have nothing concrete planned. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us.

During a skydive from ⁓14,000 feet, you can expect to enjoy an adrenaline-pumping freefall that lasts for about 45 seconds.

Once the freefall is over, the parachute will be deployed at a safe altitude, typically around 5,000 to 6,000 feet. This altitude gives you several minutes to glide gently under the canopy, offering breathtaking views and a serene experience as you approach the landing area.

When preparing for a tandem skydiving experience, it’s essential to wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for the weather conditions of the day. Here are some recommendations:

    • Comfortable Clothes: Opt for clothing that allows you to move freely. Loose-fitting attire, like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and athletic pants or shorts, is ideal. Avoid wearing restrictive clothing that could limit your movement during the skydive.
    • Closed-Toe Shoes: Wearing closed-toe shoes is a must for safety reasons. Athletic shoes or sneakers are highly recommended, as they provide proper support and protect your feet during the landing process.
    • Layers: Depending on the weather conditions, it’s a good idea to dress in layers. This way, you can adjust your clothing to stay comfortable throughout the experience.
    • Avoid Accessories: It’s best to avoid wearing accessories like jewellery, scarves, or hats during the jump, as they could get in the way or potentially become lost.

As mentioned, the skydiving facility will provide you with a jumpsuit that you’ll wear over your clothing. This jumpsuit serves multiple purposes, including providing an extra layer of protection and enhancing the overall skydiving experience.

By following these recommendations and dressing appropriately, you’ll ensure that you’re comfortable and prepared for an incredible tandem skydiving adventure!
