How high do I jump from?
The altitude of ⁓14,000 feet (approximately ⁓4,000 meters) is a standard altitude for many skydiving experiences. This altitude provides an exhilarating and unforgettable freefall experience while allowing ample time for the parachute to be deployed and ensuring a safe landing. With the additional flight time Lauterbrunnen PLUS is the jump ⁓300m/1000ft higher than on the “normal” jump, thus extending your freefall time. This offer can also be booked on the spot for an additional CHF 150.-
During a skydive from ⁓14,000 feet, you can expect to enjoy an adrenaline-pumping freefall that lasts for about 45 seconds.
Once the freefall is over, the parachute will be deployed at a safe altitude, typically around 5,000 to 6,000 feet. This altitude gives you several minutes to glide gently under the canopy, offering breathtaking views and a serene experience as you approach the landing area.

What do I wear?
As a seasoned skydiver, you know that the right attire is essential for a successful jump. When you’re diving with us at Skydive Interlaken, remember to consider the altitude’s cooler temperatures, especially during the winter months. Even if you’re accustomed to the rush of skydiving, the Swiss winter can bring a new edge to the experience.
We recommend wearing your own professional jumpsuit for the dive. Not only does it minimize drag and protect you from the elements, but it also provides the freedom of movement essential for maneuvers. Keep in mind the chill of high altitudes; layering beneath your jumpsuit can offer additional warmth without sacrificing agility.
Please be aware that we do not provide rental or lending services for jumpsuits. Your preparation should include all the gear you need to embrace the skies comfortably and safely. This ensures that when you leap from the aircraft, you’re as ready for the Swiss cold as you are for the thrill of the jump.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my solo Skydive
Should weather conditions become unfavourable, rest assured that your solo skydive will be rescheduled for a later time/day, or cancelled and fully refunded.
At Skydive Interlaken, we prioritize the well-being of our participants and closely monitor weather conditions, making responsible decisions based on strict safety guidelines. Waiting for suitable weather conditions is essential to guarantee a secure and truly enjoyable skydiving experience for everyone involved.
Undoubtedly, the dynamic mountain weather presents a challenge, and despite our best efforts, we can never be entirely certain of its behaviour. Given the ever-changing conditions, there remains a possibility of encountering clouds or rain during the jump.
We understand that this experience is unique to every person, therefore we are very flexible in dealing with postponements

Why do we use a Helciopter instead of a Airplane?
- Unmatched Views and Flexibility: Helicopters can hover, allowing you to enjoy panoramic views before you jump. The ability to hover also means you can choose the perfect spot and moment for your jump.
- Altitude Precision: Helicopters offer more precise control over the altitude from which you jump, ensuring a more tailored skydiving experience.
- Slower Ascend: The slower ascend in a helicopter allows you to fully take in the scenery, making the experience more immersive.
- Unique Jump Experience: Jumping from a helicopter is often perceived as more thrilling due to the open door, which adds an extra adrenaline rush.
- Smaller Groups: Helicopter jumps typically involve smaller groups, offering a more personalized and less crowded experience.
